The rain, the rain
Yes, it's sodding well raining.
I've got no idea if it's cold as well, it looks like it ought to be, but I am hiding out inside the house with the air-con on. Mind you, the BBC reckon it's 29 degrees outside.
Friday is Australia day though which would mean a day off work, but then as I am not yet working, it's just another day off. But they have this weird thing going on, where apparently on Australia day you're meant to eat lamb. I still can't quite figure out how these things go together, but apparently it means you are truly Australian. It obviously takes no account of vegetarians, or people like me who just can't stand lamb, or even the smell of it. So there you go.
But after avoiding lamb all day on Friday I am off to Melbourne on Saturday. Needless to say I am building up the frequent flier miles - although knowing what they are like I probably have enough miles to enable me to buy a hamburger from McDonalds, or something of equal value. Not sure what I will get up to in Melbourne, apart from hopefully we will go to the mall where they film Kath and Kim so we can pretend to be the rude shop assistants and/or total hornbags.
Today though I am on secret squirrel mode, setting up stuff for my friend's birthday. I've just got to find somewhere where I can buy helium balloons.......
